This is an 80 video with plenty of fire for everyone! It consists of 12 incidents, 11 of which are in Cleveland, the last and most spectacular is a fifth alarm in Garfield Heights at a magnesium recycling factory… need I say more? This scene is just about all fire with apparatus, streams and the roads they are on silhouetted by the night flames. There are so many explosion from magnesium, it’s hard to keep count! It takes a little time to determine what is burning, because the entire video is not narrated. All the viewer gets is the location, date and number of alarms. It’s up to the view to figure out the rest. In this particular fire the camcorder is positioned for a short time behind what seems to be the IC so the viewer can pick up a little.
Of the rest of the fires, seven are second alarms and the rest are box alarms with special calls. All of the fires occur either in 2003 or 2004.
To give a brief rundown, the first is a private dwelling with fire throughout; handline and Telesqurt operation, LDH being deployed. Fire goes through roof. Next is a Box & specials for a two-story frame with 2nd floor fully involved. Squrt raised to attic, handline on ground. Next is a box & specials for a 2 1/2story frame with fire blowing out of attic and “B” side of building. Fire eventually goes through the roof. Squrt sets up and ladderpipe operates. A 2nd alarm in a 2 story frame building has handlines and ladderpipes working. Building collapses. A 2nd alarm in a 1 story commercial building has fire in the cockloft. Ladderpipe operated down into the fire. Ceiling collapses and drops fire top the ground floor. A box and specials is required for a cellar fire “going good” in a 1 ½ story frame. Fire goes through the roof sending the vent team off of it. Ladderpipes and handlines used. A 2nd alarm in an auto wrecking business is in progress durng snow showers. Outside handlines are used. A box and specials is used for a fire in a 2 1/2 story frame deli with dwelling above. A 2nd alarm is struck for a 2 story ordinary construction building with fire throughout and blowing like a torch on the “A” side. A 2nd alarm in a large 2 ½ story frame has fire throughout. Seems like more “flame“ than “house!” Another 2nd alarm is in a 1 story ordinary constructed auto repair garage and upholstery store. The fire blows out the rear and possesses the entire building.
The video I had did not include any paperwork indicating what fires were on it. The footage is great but I would have like to see at least a size-up and/or some narration with brief highlights about the incident as coverage starts.
